Spiced Up Scarves

Materials:

yarn of choice
knitting needles to gauge yarn

Steps:

Cast on 24 sts and work in pattern st as below.

Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: *(K2 tog) 2 times, (yo, K1) 4 times, (K2 tog) 2 times; repeat from * one time (figures A and B)
Row 4: Knit
Repeat these four rows for pattern (figure C)

Once you have worked the pattern for the number of inches you desire, either bind off and sew onto a scarf or change to a garter st and continue to knit every row.

If you sew onto the scarf, then make two and sew onto each end (figure D).

If you continue to knit, just repeat the pattern at the other end (figure E).
