We LOVE old cupboard doors! There are so many things you can make out of them. If you don't have an old one around, check out lumber supply houses that frequently have "seconds" that can be picked up for a song (and they're usually pretty inexpensive, too, if you don't sing).

Materials:

Wild Things Project Paper "Zebra" #79921
salvage yard kitchen cupboard door (with raised trim)
2 simple brass door handles
4 brass door stops
water-soluble white glue
drill and small bit
screws
black permanent marker
foam brush

Steps:

1. "Distress" the "Zebra" project paper (figure A) and hand press flat.

2. Cut the paper to fit on the flat area inside the trim on the cupboard door.

3. Dilute the white glue with water (about 25 percent); then spread the glue mixture on the cupboard door using a foam brush (figure B). Press the Zebra paper over the glue on the cupboard door (figure C). Wrinkles in the paper are fine, but flatten them down with your fingers so that the surface is flat.

4. Apply a layer of the glue mixture on top of the paper (figure D). Let dry overnight.

5. Center the door handles on either end of the cupboard door and screw in place (figure E).

6. Turn tray over and screw the door stops into all four corners of bottom of tray (figure F).

7. Color the white rubber cap at the bottom the door stop with the black marker (black matte acrylic paint is fine too but will chip more easily).
