Interior Designer Paul Duchscherer begins his transformation with a fresh coat of paint in a mix of light pastels with gold-leaf accents in several areas. Then he creates a grand entrance by restoring some of the original period details.

He continues his transformation of this home by replacing the existing front door, which was added long after the house was built and doesn't suit the style of the house. This is done with a custom-made door that is true to the Victorian era.

Duchscherer also replaces the existing light fixture with a period piece that was recovered from the neighborhood where the house is located. Finally, he has the house numbers handpainted, using 23-karat gold, just like the orginal numbers would have been painted.
