Architect Karyn Shore adds some much-needed Spanish flair to the front of Kim and Peter Wilding's home. She cases the windows and front door with redwood molding, and paints the molding a rich brown. Shore also adds decorative wrought-iron fixtures including a new porch light and house numbers.

She also replaces the glass-paneled front door with a heavier wooden door and attaches heavy, iron fixtures to the door. To solidify the door's appearance, she "grounds" it by building a new step in front of the entrance. Shore paves the riser of the step with colorful Mexican tiles, and tops the step with terra-cotta tiles.

Shore continues the transformation of this house by creating a gravel arcade underneath the stucco arches across the facade of the house. She then asks landscape designer Doug Williams to install a simple stone pathway from the street to the front door and install a colorful Spanish-style garden.
