In 1994, designer Cherryl Greene moved from Colorado to California--although she wasn't a designer quite yet. The transition from the relaxing mountains to the bustling city of Los Angeles was not easy. She was never quite sure how she would find her niche in Southern California. But one day while working a job at a weight-loss clinic, she was asked to buy some rubber stamps for their members' charts. And this is where it all began! When Cherryl stepped foot into her first rubber stamp store, her heart pounded feverishly. She had never seen anything quite like it! There was so much to take in! For some reason, she knew she was in her element. Having an insatiable need to be in the store, she took on some part-time work dusting the shelves for them. Cherryl could not pull herself away from the shapes, sizes, colors and smells of the rubber stamps. A short while later, she opened her own rubber stamp store and began designing her own sample boards.

More than a decade later, Cherryl is a favorite guest on Carol Duvall, captivating the audience with her altered books and fabulous smile. Take a look inside Cherryl's home and her craft room, full of her current projects.

In her work room, Cherryl worked on a coptic stitched handmade book. It includes rubber stamps (her obvious art tool of choice), coin envelopes, tags and various other ephemera to create a personal journal. She prepares to teach an altered book class, putting the student packets together with patterned papers, die-cuts, stickers and more. She also works on her ATCs (artist trading cards) segment for the show. Check out Cherryl's workspace--does it look like your own, or your dream space? It's full of fabulous clutter and glorious crafts!
