The Carol Duvall Show cameras caught up with the
Stop Asking--WE EXIST art exhibit at the American Craft museum in 1999. Organized by Baltimore gallery owner, curator and artist Joyce Scott, the exhibit is a collection of crafts made by African-American artists from all across the United States. The show attempts to look at the wide variety of creativity taking place in African-American communities today.
Organizer Scott says, "If I could give anything to the viewers who have seen Stop Asking--WE EXIST, if I could ask them to take something home in their pocket, it would be a joy in the experience of looking at artwork that has something to say beyond its beauty."
