On The Road: Cherry Creek
Carol Duvall Show : Episode CDS-356 -- More Projects » The Cherry Creek Art Festival is one of the most successful art fairs in the world, with more than 300,000 visitors over its three day run. An average of 2800 artists apply to this juried event, which has expanded to fifteen media categories encompassing almost every art form. This year's festival included some futuristic computer-generated art and other hi-tech applications. One of the unconventional participants was Lance Kleavland, who builds three-dimensional objects on a computer screen and then animates these images by varying their size, shape, light intensity and shadowing. Also featured were Sylvain D'leand, from France, who combines painting, sculpture, and photography to create an unusual look, and visual/performance artist Denny Dent, who wildly paints enormous portraits of well-known musicians while he listens to their music.
