Morgan shares the basic steps of making the gingerbread and building the structures. Each home starts with an idea constructed first in cardboard form. This model provides a dimensional template that ensures all aspects of the house are in proportion and sturdy, plus serves as template for the gingerbread. Once the gingerbread has been rolled and baked, the templates are used to carve out all the parts of the house.

Then slowly, piece by piece, the house is constructed using royal icing as the mortar and cement. After that, it's matter of embellishing with tons of candy.
