Magic Paper

Carol Duvall Show : Episode CDS-135 -- More Projects »
Carol introduces the viewers to a light-sensitive paper that can be used to make cards and other projects. Since it is highly reactive to light, the paper comes wrapped in black, plastic, which should be left on until the paper is ready to be used.

Once the paper has been exposed to a light source, it changes from a blue color to white. To create a design, unwrap a piece of this paper and lay it out in the sun with an object, stencil, letters, etc., on top of it. A piece of transparent acetate containing a black design or message will also work well if placed atop the paper.

Eventually, the exposed areas of the paper will turn white, while the covered areas will remain blue. An additional bonus is that if you immediately put the paper in water, it returns to its original blue and the design is lightened so as to be visible.
