More products to make your crafting easier...more varied...more creative...all with the help of some of the latest new products on the crafting scene.
The first item today is designed to make your crafting easier...if you are into serious punching, that is. Called the E-Z Touch Punch, it is a battery powered (!) puncher from Westrim Crafts that retails for $15 for the puncher and $3.50 for the individual punches (figure A).
Another set of alphabet stamps has joined the crowd. This, from Hampton Art Stamps , is called the DaVinci Alphabet Stamp Set, and one look at the images tells you why . The stamped letters are decorated with geometric lines that resemble those seen on many of DaVinci's sketches. The set consists of unadorned wooden cubes, each of which indicates what rubber stamp letter should be attached. The letters themselves all come with peel-off stickers so you can attach them to the blocks where indicated . Four letters go on each wooden cube. Priced at $29.95 for the complete set (figure B).
From The Sassy Frog are DeLightts, which should delight any scrapbooker. Each set of tiny lights is attached to a small battery by way of a short length of wire. The lights can be placed in selected spots on your scrapbook page...on the top of die -cut birthday cake candles, as headlights on a die-cut car, or stars in the sky. Also attached is a small unobtrusive button that you push to start the lights blinking . They continue for ten seconds and then automatically turn off. They are $8 a strand (figure C).
For painters--especially those who are smitten with Pearl EX--comes a new little paint palette know as the Pearl-Express Watercolor Palette from US ArtQuest. For the uninitiated, Pearl EX paints cannot be mixed with water without first adding gum arabic. Now the gum arabic has been added for you in these little wafer-shaped pieces of paint. Just add water and use like any watercolor paint--except now you have the radiance of Pearl EX. The pallets contain ten colors each for $18.99 (figure D).
For rubber-stampers and/or card makers or those who enjoy making collages, the antique looking miniature cardboard embellishments might be of interest. Very small Scrabble-like tiles made of cardboard, even smaller letters that form words, very old, very small rulers, etc. all are available from Limited Edition Rubber Stamps (figure E).
For those who like the idea of putting together a calendar with family photos or for those who would like to but never got around to it, a desk calendar from Deadbeat Designs is another version (figure F). Priced at only $12 and much less intimidating in size, this little calendar measures about 5" x 7", stands on its own easel, and is complete except for filling in the spaces above the dates. That's where you can rubber stamp, place stickers, add photos, etc. It's a workable size and open to a great many creative possibilities (figure G).
If you like the rub-off instant lottery tickets, you should be quite taken with the latest Scratch Stickets from Hampton Art Stamps. Print out your announcement or invitation or whatever on your printer; then select the areas that you want to be a surprise. Cut out a piece from one of the colored Stickets and place it over the printed words that tell the story. Add a few "scratch here" arrow stickers and send to someone. They will follow the directions...scratch where indicated...and the hidden words will be revealed (figure H).
For all you wire workers or beginning wire workers, here's a tool from The Beadery that does three jobs in one. It looks like a standard small and handy wire cutter , but in addition to being a cutter, there is also an area that straightens wires and another used for curling. Three-in-one for $6.99.
