Create funky designs using rubbing alcohol on painted silk. Here's how to do it.

Materials:
fine silk
wooden frame
silk paints
paintbrush
rubbing alcohol
hair dryer

Steps:

  1. In order to apply paints to silk, the silk must be raised off the surface. If not, the silk paint will pool. Make or buy a frame to raise the silk off the surface, and attach the silk to this frame.

  2. Brush on the first color of silk paint to the outside of the fabric. This paint will bleed and spread.
