Materials:

canvas scrapbook cover
various permanent crafting inks
clear spray sealant
buttons or charms
needle and thread
ribbon
glue adhesive
heat tool

Steps:

1. Start with a canvas scrapbook cover. Apply lighter shades of permanent crafting inks with a light sweeping motion, then heat set (figure A).

2. Apply a coat of sealer and allow to dry. You may also quick dry with your heat gun. Be sure to spray sealer in a well-ventilated area.

3. Using your dark shades of inks, randomly stamp all over your cover. Be sure to go off the edges when stamping, to create a continuous pattern (figure B).

4. Heat set your inks and apply a coat of sealer. Remember to spray in a well-ventilated area.

5. Sew buttons and/or chains to the middle edge of the opening.

6. Apply a ribbon trim with adhesive and allow to dry (figure C).

7. Cover your scrapbook!
