In this episode, a child's bedroom and old attic on the third floor of a turn-of -the-century Victorian are combined to create a new master bedroom suite, plus an old shed and porch at the rear of the house are replaced with a one-story family room addition.
With framing of the first floor addition complete and a roof installed, work begins on the exterior of the home to prepare for the stucco and stonework to come. To make the addition look larger, the facade will be covered with manufactured stone on the bottom half of the wall and stucco on the top half of the wall.
Upstairs in the new master bath, PVC plumbing is configured to support a whirlpool tub, sink and new toilet. Framing continues in the master bath to install a low profile skylight.
Back on the first floor, a base and skim stucco coat are applied to the exterior of the home. Because of all the new space an additional climate control zone is being installed, and we visit the factory where the ductwork is being custom made. The new ductwork is then installed in the basement. The show concludes with the installation of the new low profile skylight in the master bedroom suite on the third floor.
This is the second episode in a three-part Victorian house renovation.
