Figure B
Field reporter Joe Zanger tours the home of Carl Zehner, who shows off his unique collectible displays.

Figure A--Zehner began collecting these elves simply because they were from the '50s. He found his first dozen at a yard sale for $10. He now has close to 300 elves that could easily fetch up to $50 each on the Internet. Zehner warns against inflated prices on the Internet, though. He recommends flea markets and yard sales instead.

Figure B--His crowning collection is Zehner's formal dinnerwear and he loves the fact that most items don't match. Even his daily table service is a wild collection. Many would say that his collections are junk, and even he may admit that--but for him, it is junk that can be used for something other than just taking up space.
