This flea market find gets a new look with bright colors and fun shapes.
Materials:

dresser
oil-based bonding primer (if dresser is veneer)
bright latex paints
stamps and stencils (folk art, hippie, gypsy caravan style)
painter's tape
sponge brushes
paint pens
artist's brushes

Steps:

  1. Remove hardware and drawers. If necessary, sand and prime dresser.
  2. Once dry, tape-off areas that won't be painted. Paint base color as necessary and allow to dry. Remove tape.
  3. Reapply tape on inside edges of dried area to expose the outer edge. Paint the edge a different color and let dry.
  4. Use stamps, stencils or transfer designs to decorate the dresser in different colors. Embellish designs with paint pens or brushes for a hand-painted look.
