Steps:
- Measure the wood floor to determine the placement and the size of the stencil design.
- Prepare the floor surface so that it is free of any grease and wax, and lightly sand it with 220-grit paper, and remove all dust.
- Plug the stencil pen in, and allow it to heat up for about five minutes.
- Place the pattern face up on a flat work surface.
- Place a piece of glass over the pattern.
- Secure the glass to the work surface with a few pieces of tape.
- Place the Mylar (shiny side up) on top of the glass.
- Align the Mylar over the designs to allow at least a 1" border of Mylar around the designs.
- Secure the Mylar with a few pieces of tape.
- Use a black marker to transfer any of the reference markings onto the Mylar.
- Cut out all areas (windows) to be stenciled with the stencil cutting pen.
- Place the cut stencil on the wood floor, and align the markings.
- To stencil, dip the stencil brush into the cream, and swirl the brush onto the paper towels. Swirl the color onto the stencil. The cremes allow for easy blending of colors on the surface.
- When finished stenciling, allow the floor to dry for 48 hours before coating it with a durable clear wood floor finish.
