Materials:
doghouse from local lumber company or hardware store--prepainted finish
FolkArt Artists' pigments: Hauser green light, Hauser green medium, Hauser green dark, ice blue, yellow light, true burgundy, titanium white, Payne's gray, burnt umber, burnt sienna
Lowe-Cornell series #7300 flat brushes in sizes #1, #4, #10, #12 and a series #7350 #1 liner brush.

Steps:
Preparation
- Wash away any dust from the doghouse. Let dry.
- Lightly pencil in a plaid design.
- Use a #10 brush to make Hauser green light stripes.
- Use a #4 brush to make yellow light stripes.
- Use #1 flat brush to make Hauser green dark stripes.
- Use the liner brush to make the true burgundy stripes.
- Neatly trace and transfer the design using chalk.
Leaves - Use the liner brush and Hauser green medium to paint the stems. Note: Add a little blending gel medium to the paint.
- Shade the stems with Hauser green dark and occasionally with a touch of true burgundy.
- Highlight the stems with Hauser green light and ice blue.
- Base coat some of the leaves with Hauser green medium, some with Hauser green dark and some with Hauser green light.
