Kit Carson House

Dream Builders : Episode DRB-1113 -- More Projects »
One of America’s greatest frontiersmen hung his hat in this home in Taos, N.M. Kit Carson, translator and scout during the founding of the American West, arrived in Taos in 1826, but he didn’t settle down into this adobe home until he married his wife Maria in 1843. Today, the restored interior includes the desk in which Carson mapped out his expeditions. The original well still stands just behind the rear of the house. The Kit Carson House is now a museum honoring the great frontiersman.
