Forty-five minutes from the hustle and bustle of New York City sits a cabin in the woods designed by a husband-wife architectural team who were asked to design a magic hideaway with fairy tale flair. The tiny cedar cottage at the edge of the forest measures 12-by-12, boasts only a wicker couch, a tiny writing table, two chairs, and a cupboard.
The rafters rise to meet a sleeping loft with a view of the treetops through a diamond-shaped window. The Lindbergh's liked designing and building the small, cozy, and private structure so much, they decided to run with the idea. Thus, Tiny Houses Inc. was born. Since they started the company, the Lindbergh's have been asked to design everything from tiny tree houses to tiny doghouses.
