Frighteningly Stylish Home

A funeral home is probably not the first place that comes to mind when shopping for a new home. But four friends in Washington saw potential in an abandoned 10,000-square-foot building. Randy Kuczor, Tom Bell, Mike Mollock and Ron Wilkerson are reaping the rewards from their vision and now live in a stylish group residence.

They even embraced the history of the old C.F. Murray & Son’s Funeral Home and casket factory by holding a Halloween party when they first moved in four years ago. They love to show off the home's unique features, such as the original pocket doors that once gave privacy to mourning families and an elevator that moved finished caskets from the workshop to the showroom downstairs. Fortunately, these men weren’t turned off by the building’s morbid history and now live in a cheerful home.
